Dear Fellow-laborers;
Bonnie and I wanted to get this newsletter in the mail before we leave out the end of this week in order to bring you up to date on whatís going on with the ministry here in Mexico.
Vacation Bible School Time
Here we are once again right in the middle of Vacation Bibles School time. Our grand-daughter from Knoxville, TN. was able to be here and help us in our first VBS of this year. We certainly enjoyed having her here with us. This is one of the special golden nuggets of being grammaw and grampaw. We just finished up the first VBS in a very small village called Puerto De Aguirre. It was the first time that a VBS has been presented there. This small village is like most of the small villages here in Mexico that are so deeply rooted in the traditionalism and the formalism of the Catholic church. There wasnít but about four visitors from outside the mission work, that came, but we had a great time with the kids and also with the adults that came. Itís for sure, we stirred up some curiosity by being there. There is only about 10 or 12 adult believers besides their children that live in this village and they are all of one family with the exception of one lady and her grandson. The mission work hasnít been their so very long and therefore hasnít been accepted as of yet.
We will be leaving out the end of this week to preach an anniversary campaign and then 3 more VBSís in some small towns in the state of Michioacan and also one in Guadalajara. We write and furnish all the teachers books and the work books for the VBSís we present. There isnít much VBS materials available in Spanish and besides that, they wouldnít have the means or money to purchase it. Therefore, we certainly praise the Lord for your prayers and support that helps us do this.
Evangelistic Meetings
Weíll be getting home from the Bible Schools the middle of the last week of August, just in time to leave out again and start a series of evangelistic meeting the first week of September in the states of Veracruz and Tamualipas. Weíll not be back from these meetings until October. Then we have meetings scheduled for the month of October, but just not as many and weíll be able to be home some. Weíll be looking forward to a break about this time!
Christian Literature
We are certainly thankful for Bearing Precious Seed Ministries in Greenwood, In. for their dedication and faithful help in furnishing New Testaments and Books of Juan and Romans for Mexico. The national missionaries and pastor that work out in the rural areas of Mexico are very much appreciative for their boundless efforts to help them reach their own people and to teach them.
Central America
We are praying and planning a trip to Central America to take a load of Bibles, New Testaments and other Christian literature next year. Specifically into Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. There is such a great need there for Christian literature. Some have already expressed a desire to help with the literature and also the cost of the trip. If you would like to be a part of this, just send it to our support address above and indicate that itís for the Central America trip. We certainly need and would appreciate any help with this.
We covet your continual prayers for us and the ministry. Especially with us being on the road almost continually preaching in these rural areas. We certainly need Godís hand and watch care over us.
In Service For Christ Sake,
Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and practical support for us and also the ministry
